Hi, my name is Paul Gilbert.
I am an artist who paints mostly my environment.
I have a special admiration for nature. I was born and grew up on the La Digue Island.
I studied fine arts at the School of Art and Design and studied art education in the School of Education and Community Studies at the Seychelles Polytechnic.
My paintings feature Creole houses,
fishermen, beaches, traditional dances, (sega, Moutia), and landscapes. I began
my career as an Art Teacher at the secondary level. In 2008 I made a key career change, I held my first solo exhibition and became
