Hi, my name is Paul Gilbert from Seychelles Islands.
I am an artist who specializes in acrylic paintings, combining realism and impressionism in my work. I have a special admiration for nature. I was born and grew up on La Digue Island.
I studied fine arts at the School of Art and Design and studied art education in the School of Education and Community Studies at the Seychelles Polytechnic.
My paintings feature Creole houses, fishermen, beaches, traditional dances, (sega, Moutia), and landscapes.
I began my career as an Art Teacher at the secondary level. In 2008 I made a key career change, I held my first solo exhibition and became a freelance artist.
After that I also participated in different exhibitions around the island and held art classes for clients in different 5 star Hotels on Mahe which is the main island in Seychelles. Then I held my second solo exhibition in 2023.
